LOCO MACHINES is a Barcelona-based studio dedicated to exploring the physical side of interactive art and experimental technology. Founded in 2005 by Ángel Muñoz, the studio works at the intersection of imagination, materials, and engineered precision—creating objects and installations that blend movement, light, and tactile presence.

Our practice revolves around building things with our hands: prototypes, mechanisms, kinetic structures, luminous objects, playful machines, and hybrid pieces where electronics, craftsmanship, and design coexist. Each project begins with experimentation—testing materials, developing small-scale models, refining components, and iterating until form and function align.

We combine digital fabrication, custom hardware, simple electronics, robotics, and manual processes to create work that feels both technological and deeply material. Whether through sculptural machines, interactive devices, custom plotters, or collaborative instruments, our approach focuses on giving ideas a physical body and making technology approachable, expressive, and surprising.

LOCO MACHINES collaborates with artists, museums, cultural institutions, brands, exhibitions, and public spaces to transform concepts into tangible experiences. Beyond producing objects, we aim to build connections—between light and space, between people and machines, and between the digital world and the material one.
